With nearly 2,000 participants, a wide range of activities, and a fantastic atmosphere despite the rainy weather, the first-ever Duna Group Family Day took place on May 16th 2026, at Zánka. This event was a result of a long-planned initiative, providing an opportunity for the company’s employees and their family members to spend together a meaningful and exciting day outside workplace.
Although persistent “golden May rain” accompanied the event throughout the day, it never dampened the enthusiasm of those attending. A familiar, relaxed atmosphere was palpable throughout the day, that embodies the most important value of such a community event.
With almost 60 activities on offer, visitors of all ages could find the ones that excited them the most. The DUNA EXPO construction vehicle exhibition children could experience the machines that play a vital role in delivering our infrastructure projects every day first-hand. At the BIM stand, interested visitors gained insight into the world of drone technology and modern Building Information Modelling. One of the most popular attractions for children was the scale LEGO model of the Mohács Danube Bridge, which presented one of Hungary's most significant bridge construction projects in a playful and spectacular way.
The DUNA Cinema screened short films highlighting some of the company's most significant projects, while the DUNA Quiz proved so popular that we had to hold an extra round.
The 1st Duna Group Football Cup was very popular, while children were entertained by concerts, arts and crafts programs and interactive activities. The simulators and demonstrations at the Military Technology Park offered a unique experience, while boat trips on Lake Balaton became one of the day's most memorable programs for many participants.
Among the performers on the main stage the youngest participants were entertained by Kapal Jakab and the Kicsi Gesztenye Klub, before the day concluded with a grand evening concert. Even the rain could not stop people from singing along together and enjoying the celebration.
The feedback received from colleagues after the event confirmed that the first Duna Group Family Day achieved exactly what it set out to do. Participants most frequently highlighted the sense of community experienced, the wide variety of activities and the event’s atmosphere, that clearly suggests that it is worth making this event a tradition.
