The Pál Tomori Bridge has been shortlisted for the ‘Supporting Structure of the Year 2026’ award in the bridge/construction project category.

The bridge, built by Duna Aszfalt as the main contractor, was nominated for the award by the main designer, CÉH Zrt. We were also involved in another shortlisted project in this category, the construction of the pedestrian and cycle bridge in Velence: we carried out the construction work, whilst the steel structure was manufactured by our Polish subsidiary, WKS Duna Polska.

The Pál Tomori Bridge, linking Paks and Kalocsa, was handed over in June 2024. One of the most distinctive features of this 946-metre-long Danube bridge is the 440-metre-long extradosed arrangement river bridge. The detailed working designs for the project were prepared by CÉH Zrt. and Pont-TERV Zrt.
Since its opening, the Pál Tomori Bridge has received several professional accolades: in 2024, it was awarded the Construction Industry Quality Award, and in 2025, it won the Steel Structure of the Year award. Being shortlisted this year is further professional recognition for the designers, contractors and all those involved in the project.
The other shortlisted entry in the bridge/construction project category is the pedestrian and cycle bridge in Velence, designed by FŐMTERV Zrt. The Duna Group’s expertise is also linked to this project. Construction was carried out by Duna Aszfalt, whilst the steel structure, weighing nearly 194 tonnes, was manufactured by WKS Duna Polska.
The ‘Supporting Structure of the Year 2026’ awards will be presented on September the 25th at the evening gala of the 4th István Menyhárd Memorial Day and Professional Conference.
We are proud to have contributed to the realisation of both shortlisted projects in this category.
