As part of its Central and Eastern European business development strategy, Duna Group has completed further acquisitions in the Czech Republic and Romania. Through the acquisition of VALCANO a.s. and SC EURO STRADA SRL, Duna Aszfalt Zrt. has strengthened its presence in the region. Both companies are established and respected players in their respective national construction markets.
Duna Aszfalt Zrt. has acquired a majority stake in VALCANO a.s. in the Czech Republic, marking a significant step in expanding the Duna Group’s portfolio. Founded in 2008, the company is a well-established player in the Czech road construction industry and has also built many kilometres of railway substructures along the country’s main rail lines in recent years.
With more than 80 employees, the company operates a modern machinery fleet and uses industry-leading pioneering technologies such as 3D earthwork management and integrated stabilisation systems. Its innovative approach, efficient project management and strong professional reputation closely align with Duna Group’s objectives and development strategy.
Collaboration between the two companies has already begun: Valcano a.s. and Duna Aszfalt Zrt. are currently collaborating on the construction of a 5.17-kilometre two-lane bypass road west of Prestice, a town near Plzen, a project that also marks the professional foundation of the partnership.
In Romania, Duna Aszfalt Zrt. has also acquired a majority stake in EURO STRADA SRL, a long-standing operator in the country’s road infrastructure sector and in concrete and asphalt production. Founded in 1998, the company employs more than 80 people and operates a modern equipment fleet as well as an ISO-certified laboratory.
